Train Your Brain Like a Commando

1. Introduction

In the previous chapter, I pointed out some important aspects related to personal life. In this chapter, I am going to discuss a topic that can play an essential role in every area of life.

I do not know what stage of life you are in. I do not know what your purpose is, what you expect from your life, what you want to do, or what you want to achieve.

But there is one thing I can say with certainty.

If you are reading this book, you are a dreamer.

You have dreams, and somewhere inside you, you are looking for a better way to achieve success and create a better life.

The principles discussed in this book are not meant to give you false promises or temporary motivation. I want to share the principles and lessons that have influenced my own life and that can help you transform the way you think, act, and approach your goals.

So, let us discuss one of the most important principles:

Train your brain like a commando.

A commando is not prepared in a day. Fearlessness, courage, physical strength, mental strength, emotional control, discipline, and the ability to face difficult situations are developed through rigorous training.

Your life is also a training ground.

Every responsibility, challenge, failure, disappointment, and difficult situation gives you an opportunity to become stronger.

The question is:

Are you training yourself for the life you want to live?

---

2. What Is the Problem?

One of the biggest problems people face is that they want extraordinary results without going through extraordinary training.

People want success, but they do not always want discipline.

They want confidence, but they do not want to face uncomfortable situations.

They want physical strength, but they do not want to train consistently.

They want emotional strength, but they avoid difficult emotions.

They want mental strength, but they do not train their mind to handle pressure, failure, uncertainty, and responsibility.

Sometimes a person may be mentally strong but emotionally weak.

Sometimes someone may be emotionally strong but physically weak.

Sometimes a person may be physically strong but lack discipline.

True personal development requires you to work on your mind, body, emotions, and habits together.

You do not become strong by simply wishing to become strong.

You become strong by training yourself repeatedly.

---

3. Detailed Explanation

Train Yourself Step by Step

You do not have to become extraordinary overnight.

Every great transformation begins at a small level.

Start where you are.

Then move:

Basic → Good → Better → Excellent → Outstanding → Extraordinary → Exceptional

This is how mastery develops.

You cross your limitations gradually. You start with small challenges, repeat them consistently, and slowly increase the level of difficulty.

There is a famous Chinese proverb:

«“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”»

The same principle applies to your life's goals.

If your goal is big, do not become overwhelmed by its size.

Take the first step.

Then take the next one.

Keep moving.

Over time, your small steps can create extraordinary results.

Your goal is not to become perfect on the first day.

Your goal is to become better than you were yesterday.

---

Become an Expert, Not Omniscient

One of the mistakes people make in the early stages of life is trying to become good at everything.

They want to know everything.

They want to develop every possible quality.

But trying to become knowledgeable in everything can prevent you from becoming exceptional at something important.

Look at successful professionals across different fields.

An actor develops expertise in acting.

A cricketer develops expertise in cricket.

An engineer develops expertise in engineering.

A doctor develops expertise in medicine.

An engineer cannot perform every medical procedure, just as a doctor cannot design and construct every building.

Similarly, Sachin Tendulkar became extraordinary through his specialization in cricket, while Amitabh Bachchan built his reputation through acting.

The lesson is simple:

You do not need to know everything. You need to become exceptional at what matters most to you.

Choose your dream.

Think about it.

Talk about it.

Believe in it.

Work on it.

Improve your skills.

Keep practicing.

There is a powerful principle behind success:

Choose the right dream and keep developing yourself until your ordinary ability becomes extraordinary.

---

Self-Discipline

Self-discipline means continuing to move toward your goal even when you do not feel motivated.

External motivation can inspire you temporarily.

But long-term progress requires self-motivation and self-discipline.

If you always need someone else to push you, remind you, or motivate you to take action, you still have an opportunity to strengthen your discipline.

Discipline means doing what needs to be done—even when you do not feel like doing it.

Remember these three principles.

1. Finish What You Begin

You may have seen people start many things but finish very few.

They begin with excitement, but when difficulties appear, they stop.

Self-discipline means developing the habit of completing what you start.

When you choose a meaningful goal, make a commitment to yourself that you will continue working toward it until you reach the desired destination or consciously decide that the goal is no longer right for you.

Every goal will have a price.

Sometimes the price is time.

Sometimes it is effort.

Sometimes it is patience.

Sometimes it is sacrifice.

If the goal is truly important to you, be prepared to pay the required price.

Remember:

Self-discipline is also a form of self-respect.

When you respect yourself, you respect your commitments.

---

2. Love What You Do, Don't Just Do What You Love

There is a common misunderstanding in life:

“I should only do what I love.”

But success is not always about doing only what feels enjoyable.

Sometimes you have to do what is necessary.

An athlete may love winning, but training is not always comfortable.

An athlete may enjoy competition, but preparation requires discipline, repetition, sweat, and sacrifice.

A student may love one subject, but other subjects may also be necessary for their education.

A business owner may love the creative side of business, but accounting, customer service, planning, marketing, and problem-solving may also be necessary.

The important question is not always:

“What do I enjoy doing?”

Sometimes the better question is:

“What must I do to achieve what I want?”

As Jim Rohn famously said:

«“Everyone must choose one of two pains: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret.”»

Discipline may be uncomfortable today, but avoiding necessary work can create regret tomorrow.

---

3. Do More Than You Think You Can

Self-discipline also means refusing to unnecessarily limit yourself.

Instead of asking only:

“What can I do?”

ask:

“What more can I do?”

Challenge yourself.

Improve your efficiency.

Learn to produce better results.

Do not measure your potential only by what you have already achieved.

Many people want promotion, recognition, success, and growth, but they do not want the discipline required to earn them.

History repeatedly shows that people who mastered their chosen fields spent years developing their skills, habits, knowledge, and discipline before achieving exceptional results.

If you want extraordinary achievement, develop extraordinary discipline.

---

The Train and the Track

Think about a train.

A train may have a powerful engine, but its power becomes useful because it runs on a track.

The track gives the train direction.

Without the track, even a powerful engine cannot move toward its destination in the same effective way.

Your self-discipline is your track.

Your dreams and goals are your destination.

Your abilities are your engine.

When your discipline gives direction to your abilities, your energy becomes focused.

Without discipline, even talent can become scattered.

With discipline, you can turn your potential into consistent action.

4. Practical Steps to Train Your Mind, Body, and Emotions

Step 1: Start Small

Do not try to change your entire life in one day.

Choose one habit and start with a manageable target.

Small wins create momentum.

Step 2: Create a Daily Routine

Decide when you will wake up, work, exercise, learn, rest, and sleep.

A routine reduces unnecessary decision-making.

Step 3: Train Your Mind

Read, learn, reflect, journal, and challenge negative thinking patterns.

Ask yourself:

“Is this thought helping me move toward my goal?”

Step 4: Train Your Body

Take care of your physical health through regular movement, adequate rest, and appropriate nutrition.

A strong mind also benefits from taking care of the body.

Step 5: Train Your Emotions

Do not allow every emotion to control your actions.

Learn to pause.

Observe what you are feeling.

Then decide how you want to respond.

Step 6: Finish Important Tasks

Make a habit of completing meaningful tasks instead of constantly starting new ones.

Completion builds confidence.

Step 7: Increase Your Standard Gradually

Once a habit becomes comfortable, increase the challenge.

Move from basic to better, better to excellent, and excellent to exceptional.

Step 8: Practice Delayed Gratification

Do not sacrifice your long-term goal for every short-term pleasure.

Learn to choose what serves your future.

Step 9: Review Yourself Every Day

At the end of the day, ask:

- What did I accomplish?

- Where did I lose focus?

- What did I learn?

- What will I improve tomorrow?

Step 10: Keep Going

The biggest advantage you can develop is consistency.

You do not need to win every day.

You need to keep training.

---

5. Real-Life Example

Imagine two people who want to become successful speakers.

The first person watches motivational videos every day and feels inspired.

The second person also watches videos, but then practices speaking for 30 minutes every day.

The first person talks about becoming a speaker.

The second person actually trains to become one.

After one month, the difference may be small.

After one year, the difference can become significant.

Why?

Because knowledge without practice does not create mastery.

Training does.

The same principle applies to business, education, fitness, communication, relationships, and personal development.

You become stronger by repeatedly doing the work that develops the strength you need.

---

6. Common Mistakes

Mistake 1: Expecting Overnight Transformation

People want immediate results and become frustrated when change takes time.

Mistake 2: Depending Completely on Motivation

Motivation comes and goes.

Discipline helps you continue when motivation is low.

Mistake 3: Trying to Master Everything

Trying to become good at everything can prevent you from becoming exceptional in your most important area.

Mistake 4: Starting Too Big

Extreme changes often become difficult to maintain.

Start small and build gradually.

Mistake 5: Quitting When Things Become Difficult

Difficulty is often part of the training process.

Learn from the challenge instead of immediately abandoning the goal.

Mistake 6: Ignoring Emotional Strength

Physical and mental strength alone are not enough.

Emotional awareness and emotional regulation also matter.

Mistake 7: Comparing Your Journey With Others

Your starting point, circumstances, and journey are different from someone else's.

Compare yourself primarily with your previous version.

---

7. 30-Day Action Plan

For the next 30 days, choose one important goal.

Days 1–7: Build Awareness

Identify your weaknesses, distractions, habits, and excuses.

Write them down.

Days 8–15: Build Discipline

Create a simple daily routine and follow it consistently.

Do not aim for perfection.

Aim for consistency.

Days 16–23: Increase the Challenge

Increase your effort slightly.

If you practiced for 20 minutes, try 30.

If you completed one important task, try completing two.

Days 24–30: Build Your New Standard

Ask yourself:

“What can I continue doing even after these 30 days?”

Turn your temporary challenge into a long-term habit.

At the end of 30 days, do not simply celebrate the completion.

Celebrate the person you are becoming.

---

8. Conclusion

Your brain, body, emotions, and habits need training.

You cannot prepare yourself for an extraordinary life with an ordinary level of discipline.

Just as a commando trains to face difficult situations, you must train yourself to face the challenges of your own life.

Train your mind to think clearly.

Train your body to remain active and healthy.

Train your emotions so that they do not control every decision.

Train your habits through discipline.

Train your skills through repetition.

And train your character through responsibility.

Remember:

You do not become unbeatable by avoiding difficult situations. You become stronger by training yourself to face them.

Start small.

Stay consistent.

Keep improving.

Become an expert in the area that matters most to you.

And never forget:

Your goal is not to become perfect overnight. Your goal is to become stronger, wiser, more disciplined, and more capable—one step at a time.

Train yourself today for the life you want to live tomorrow.

The power of positive thinking

Introduction Thinking is a process that is always going on in the cell of the mind and it is the effect of the environment around you that always affects you. Whenever you go into any environment like listening a song or watching a movie. If you go to a quarrelsome environment, now you see that you think according to the film, a quarrelsome atmosphere and song lyrics. If you meet a successful person, looking at his life style, then you immediately start imagining that success is with someone else, then your brain starts generating thinking accordingly. This means that your success and happiness all depends on the environment around you. Someone had said that if you change your mind, your life will change automatically. Control your inner self talk You become what you always talk to yourself and think the thoughts that keep repeating in your mind often. The same is your chances of being a hundred percent because, if you keep on taking the same point or thinking again and again,...
